Dikso welcomes their Berlin mate Daso who comes along with a fleecy and fluffy EP full of pure disco trance from outer space.

2014's final spurt... Just in time for christmas Dikso is proud to present their first EP from Daso. Well known for his releases on Connaisseur Recordings and Oliver Koletzki's Stil Vor Talent imprint he was searching for a homebase to show the disco aspect in his work which directly led him to Dikso.

Combining classic trance elements with disco drumming and a slight cosmic atmosphere Daso created the perfect EP to get into the long dark winter months. The musical equivalent to the northern lights that enlight and entertain until the sun comes back.

Dikso is back after the summer break with some new stuff for lovers and beloved. We were a hairbreadth away from our first strictly German Super Sound Single but we couldn’t resist to sign Shur-i-kan’s slowmo romeo called “In Love”. Also in Love…: Larse from Dortmund, Daniel from the Dikso headquarter here in Berlin and another "Dortmunder", Satin Jackets, who completes the hat-trick with his third achievement on Dikso.

P.S.: When I was writing this article, I had a first listening session with the final remix for the digital add-on package. Daniel and Aniya's track "Can You Really Know" got a big apple treatment from 50% of the soho808 guys, Dave Robertson and his girlfriend Alyssa. Must be a really harmonic relationship, the remix is unbelievable. Full of mystery and full of love, what is not a contradiction in terms. Love has always been a mystery to me. but it's there, for everyone of us. You don't believe in that? Can you really know...?

And KRL, well known from the almighty Wolf Music Recordings label, beams him in a situation that made all dreams come true. The courtship has succeeded and Romorri, Autodeep & KRL are going mad on it. Definitely the most crazy piece of house music Dikso has ever released!

On Dikso’s fifth Super Sound Single he delivered with “So Much Fun” his probably most disco- and funk-influenced track for years. Controverse reactions on DIKSO007 - Manolo - Night Rhythm '11

As you may have noticed, Dikso likes to cross the boundaries of good taste from time to time. And if we love a rework of a cheesy nineties dance anthem, we will release it.

We have never received so many reactions on a release as on Manolo's "Night Rhythm". More than 10.000 plays on Roberto's soundcloud really impressed us. Most of them were thrilled but some people were rather irritated. Phonica reviewed it in their online-store like that: "This love-it-or-hate-it track..." and "a less tacky version of a guilty pleasure or the proof that nu-disco has become the new funky house....answers on a postcard!" Guys, we looove to entertain you... :-)

Fortunately, chartings and massive airplay from Tensnake, Jody Wisternoff, Ooft!, Chopstick & Johnjon, Jacques Renault, Marc Poppcke and DFA's Justin Miller showed that there are people out there who share our strange sense of humour. Also a million thanks to André Langenfeld and Shir-Khan from Radio Fritz and Larse from Einslive for their great support. And Tensnake for promoting it on his facebook page which generated more than 150 likes within 24 hours...

DiKSO celebrates itself... The first DiKSO vinyl has hit the shops (and some charts...) and we are awaiting the 10th DiKSO edit. Watch out for some Italo Post Funk madness from downunder. Okay, who needs any reason to rock out... ;-)

"Kleine Reise" in Kreuzberg offered us their mighty place for this event, a place where acts like Soulphiction, Ali Ooft, Trickski, Tornado Wallace and even Pilooski (only to mention a very, very few...) played one after another. This is definitly an honour for us. Thanks mates!

I am not really into that black music r'n'b thang. I am not a sucker for neither any bling-bling nor any big tits on pimped cars. But every now and then there is a song I go wild for. 702's "Steelo" from the mid-nineties is such a song. Some lovely chords, a bassline sampled from Police's "Voices Inside My head" and Missy Elliott on the mic - what a sensation!

After Arsenii did a great job for the b-boys, edit number 7 is for the ladies. Expect some soulful vocals over a fluffy groove carpet that will make the girls ask for more...



Pimped up for the dancefloor with some added beats and a few more bpms but still enough soul to please the girls. Originally released in 1982 it was the first and the last release on the New Yorican "Up Right Records" label. The excellent first choice label re-released it in 2009 but it's still so so rare.

Schon irgendwie Disko, aber auch nicht wirklich. Klingt wie Disko sieht aber aus wie House... oder Minimal... oder Techno... Diskoästhetik in minimalistischem Gewande, DiKSO...

Bewaffnet mit eigenen Tracks und Edits treiben MARC POPPCKE und ANDI DE LUXE sowie DANIEL SOLAR, ihr heutiger Gast aus dem Hause SLEAZY BEATS, Diskopuristen und Musiktraditionalisten in den Wahnsinn. Was auf den ersten Blick wohlvertraut scheint, entpuppt sich schon nach wenigen Beats als etwas völlig anderes. Nichts ist heilig, alles ist erlaubt. Und Ernst wird mit Jägermeister abgefüllt. Achtung, 130 BPM werden heute ganz bestimmt nicht erreicht...

DiKSO Edit 03 - Andi de Luxe - Süpersenf

The music you can find here at DiKSO ist mostly what they call slow motion disco. But let us show you a different side. I am sure when "Supersempfft" released their album "Roboterwerke" (Robot Factory) in 1979 nobody was sure to categorize this correctly. Discogs says "Krautrock", somebody from "The Rolling Stone" forum talked about "a parody on disco music", I would describe it as "Excentric Synth-Pop". Give'em a try you will be surprised.



Especially one track kept drawing my attention with its sweet vocoder solo: "Out Of Time". This vocoder vocal is begging for a spotlight and it was a pleasure to get my scissors out. Here is "Süpersenf"...

Oran 'Juice' Jones "The Rain"? Yes, this lovely black music pussy charmer from the 80s with that innocent acting rainy atmosphere. And mates, Jones wasn't that innocent, just have a look at the record cover. He should apply for a membership in Al Bundy's "No Ma'am" movement.



"The Rain" is the newest victim for my scissor treatment. It could have been so nice to write that the rainy weather outside inspired me to that edit, but it's bloody cold here in Berlin and we have loads of snow. Oh sorry, off topic. The tempo fits but there are way too much vocals in it. And as an old 80s afficionado I love the synth part in it. What a shame it's so short in the original. But not in my version...
